Fontaine-Gagnard is one of the best producers in Chassagne-Montrachet, and the fruit from this cuvee comes from a parcel just outside of the appelation planted to 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Gamay, which are co-fermented and aged in neutral oak for 18 months. Fresh on the nose and lively on the tongue, it shows red cherries, cranberries, and raspberries, coupled with brambly, tannic undertones. Chilling it will highlight the peppery spice of the Gamay.
