Frederic Leydet runs the family estates that include over 8 hectares of vines in Saint-Emilion and another 8 hectares in Pomerol. Frederic’s goal is to achieve the total expression of the terroir, which he successfully accomplishes by practicing traditional wine making methods such as ageing his wines on the lees (sediment) in oak barrels with no racking (the draining of a wine off its lees into a fresh cask or vat). The result is a return to traditional, old style Bordeaux, an approach that is less common these days. Well-balanced with savory spice, tobacco, dark plum, fig and blackcurrant notes. Toasty, well-integrated oak flavors linger on the finish. Pairing: Prime Rib, Vegetable Casserole
