Childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts began Arnot-Roberts in 2001. Having both grown up in the Napa Valley, Nathan’s father was a cooper and Duncan studied winemaking in wineries throughout Napa and Sonoma. Their focus is on small lot, single-vineyard wines, both conventional and varieties uncommon in Northern California. Their rosé of Touriga Nacional, Gamay, and Grenache is highly sought-after and quite limited, previous vintages having been listed on Decanter’s list of “Ten of the Best California Rosé Wines.” It tastes of wild berries and spice accompanied by a chalky minerality. The low alcohol content makes this a true day wine to enjoy throughout the summer, or as long as it lasts.
