Childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts began Arnot-Roberts in 2001. Having both grown up in the Napa Valley, Nathan’s father was a cooper and Duncan studied winemaking in wineries throughout Napa and Sonoma. Their focus is on small lot, single vineyard wines, both conventional and varieties uncommon in Northern California. The rosé of Portugese variety Touriga Nacional from Lake County is highly sought-after and quite limited, previous vintages having been listed on Decanter’s list of “Ten of the Best California Rosé Wines.” It tastes of wild berries and spice accompanied with a chalky minerality. The low alcohol content makes this a true day wine to enjoy throughout the summer, or as long as it lasts.
